The mission of Employment Screening Services, Inc. (ESS) is to provide accurate, reliable, meaningful, cost-effective, and timely pre-employment background services that help our clients make better hiring decisions.

About Us
Since our beginning in 1987, we have helped over 5,000 local, regional, national, and international companies with their employment screening needs. Every one of our executives and managers has been with the company for more than a dozen years.  Most of our report processors have been with us for over five years (some as long as ten.) So we’re very knowledgeable and experienced. We’ve got employment screening down to a science.  

ESS is large enough to have “staying power” – we’ve been in business for over fifteen years – yet not so large that we treat you like a number.  And we’re nimble enough to accommodate many special requests your company may have.  We don’t have a lot of bureaucracy to wade through so we make decisions quickly. (If you’ve ever had issues with a big, slow moving company you know how frustrating it can be waiting for a resolution.  You won’t experience that with ESS.)

We’re a founding member of the National Association of Professional Background Screeners (NAPBS). So we are well respected in the industry and continue to be an active participant in its ongoing development.

ESS is federally regulated as a “consumer reporting agency” by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA,
Public Law 91-508, Title VI.)  We warrant and represent that all reports are obtained through legal sources conforming to all federal and state laws.  And because we are intimately familiar with the various laws, we’ll always keep you abreast of all the latest industry and government regulations.

             

Customer Service
ESS is not a “data factory”.  We’re a full service provider.  When you have questions or concerns, you need answers fast.  We take customer service very seriously.  It’s our top priority.  Our clients know they can always count on us to take care of their needs promptly and precisely. We recognize the employment screening industry has matured and one of the ways we distinguish ourselves from the competition is through superior service. We truly are “head and shoulders” above our competitors.

Disaster Recovery Program
In today's world it is very important for companies to make contingency plans in the event of an unforeseen disaster. Anything from terrorist attacks, fire, floods, electrical outages, etc. can take a company out of business. At ESS we understand the importance of maintaining on-going operations. We realize that if we are unable to function for more than a day, it will delay the hiring process of our 5,000+ clients across the country. For this reason, we have invested in a complete Disaster Recovery Program.

The ESS Disaster Recovery Program allows us to be up and running within an hour's notice of any disaster that may arise. All our data is backed up by direct connect to a computer system 20 miles away from our corporate office. This allows us to have all data at our fingertips in the event of a disaster. In addition, we have a complete suite of offices set-up with computers, phones, and faxes for our staff to utilize immediately. Of course, we hope we never have a need for this process, but if we do, rest assured we've already taken the necessary steps to insure there is minimal disruption to the completion of your reports.
